Cherise Adams-Burnett

Recently awarded Jazz FM Vocalist of the Year 2019 and on the cusp of releasing her own music, Cherise Adams-Burnett is quickly becoming recognised as a fiercely talented vocalist and musician.

Since graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in late 2017, she has been invited to perform at many prestigious venues and festivals, including the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, the Kennedy Centre in Washington, D.C. and the UK’s Love Supreme Jazz Festival. When asked about her approach as an artist, she describes her goal as “to celebrate and draw from all the musical styles that I love without being defined strictly by any particular genre… to bring something fresh!”

Owing much of her earlier development to the highly regarded educational group Tomorrow’s Warriors, nowadays she is glad to be involved in developing younger musicians through the same program as both a tutor and workshop leader. Aside from a string of UK dates, she will shortly be embarking on a European tour with the revered afrobeat-jazz band, Nubiyan Twist.
