Born and raised in Dublin, Sarah Vaughan trained in a broad range of musical styles including jazz, pop, musical theatre and opera. Having graduated with an honours degree in music, given her namesake – the infamous Sarah Vaughan – it is jazz that remains close to her heart.
Sarah has performed all over the world in various musicals and operas, winning awards for the roles of Belle (Beauty and the Beast), Brenda Blossom (Hollywood Pinafore) and Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance), and currently tours with the acclaimed group Women of Ireland. She has also performed on some of the world’s leading cruise liners, including Seabourn’s luxury 6* superyachts.
In 2009, Sarah represented Ireland in the World Championships of Performing Arts, returning home with 7 gold and 4 silver medals. Sarah is a member of the classical-crossover supergroup, Ida.
